The heart (Latin cor) is a hollow, muscular organ that pumps blood through the blood vessels by repeated, rhythmic contractions. The term cardiac means "related to the heart", from the Greek language kardia for "heart".

Blood diseases and disorders can be quite serious and can affect multiple parts of the blood- including the white blood cells and the red blood cells. Healthy blood function is essential for healthy heart and immune system function.
