Anyone should feel free to Jump In and share their knowledge on WikiHealth. If you start to become more involved, below are some tips that might get you up to speed on WikiHealths community perspective and policies.

  1. Dive in and create an article or edit content. Do not worry if your article is not fully flushed out. Go ahead and start it, even an outline can be a good start. Remember, all content is a community effort, so other WikiHealth members will likely help finish the article with you.
  2. YOU are the most valuable resource on WikiHealth. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments, give feedback at ANY time on ANY topic. The entire project is a community effort from the content to the functionality of the site. So go ahead and exercise your empowerment!
  3. Refer to our policies and guidelines for an understanding of how we all work together to build this health resource.
  4. The Manual of style gives an idea of how we like to have articles formatted.
  5. This is a collaborative effort. Note that articles you work on can and will be changed by other people.
  6. WikiHealth is a health manual and resource not a journal of your own health story. Use your user page to share your story but use the articles to share relevant, neutral information that might be useful to readers. A good way to ensure this is to use avoid using I and we in your article.
  7. There are many articles on WikiHealth that are great but still need work. Dont assume an article is complete or grammatical errors are intentional. Always feel free to go in and make value-add changes.
  8. Everyone who is part of WikiHealth is here for the same goal: to create a great health resource. Please assume the best intentions of each visitor BEFORE assuming the worst.
  9. Every article and page has an associated Talk Page; this is where people can go to discuss the articles ideas, format, etc. It is best to do it here rather than directly in the article. To get there, visit the Discuss this Page tab at the top of the article/page.
  10. If you havent already, create a User account. This is the best way to get credit for all your work and to build a presence in the community. Feel free to create a User page to describe yourself, share your health story, share a photo or two and any information you think is interesting.
  11. Make sure your content is original and that you follow the copyright laws. Please dont copy text or images from other copyrighted health websites.
