Maintaining Good Health

In today's world, with so many additives in to our food supplies, we need to take care that we maintain and retain good health.

We are constantly breathing in toxic fumes from many sources. Outdoor sources such as cars, planes, wood buring stoves expose us to many dangerous fumes. Similarly, disinfectants from lawn care and bug sprays and other household products can also cause harm.

We spend a day out in the park, enjoying the warmth and a renewal of a new season, and bask in the sun while smelling the flowers. In spite of this beauty and relaxation, we might find ourselves constantly sneezing.

Maintaining good health is a goal we should all aim for regardless of age or gender. Among many things, it is important to eat well. Minimize consumption of excessive fat, and try to get fats from unsaturated sources. Increase consumption of vegetables, fruits, lean meat, fish and dairy products. We read and hear this all the time, but how many of us really follow or abide by that advice?

In addition to eating well, taking the proper vitamins is important. This is especially important if we cannot get enough from our food. Buying vitamins is one thing, remembering to take them is another. Here are some tips to help you remember to take your vitamins.

Tips to remember to take your vitamins

Here are a few tips to help you remember to take your vitamins so that you can maintain good health:

  • Take all the bottles out and place them in front of you every morning.
  • Get a large glass of water, or juice, and take one pill and swallow it
  • Take that bottle and place it to the left of you, someplace near, like the stove top.
  • Take another pill, swallow it, and once again place this bottle next to the one you just took, on the left side.

By separating those that you took, and those that need to be taken, you will never again, get distracted by perhaps a phone call, and return to take your morning pills, and stand there, scratching you head, wondering, "what pills was I going to take next".

Simply go to the pile in front of you, the not yet taken pile...and once you take the vitamin place the bottle on the left side in the already taken pills.

As an alternative, you can buy one of those daily dose containers that come in the drug stores. These work well if all the pills will fit into the little compartments and if you remember to re-stock the pills on a weekly basis.
