WikiHealth:Policies and Guidelines

WikiHealth is made possible by the positive collaborative work of the Wiki Community. Because WikiHealth is written and edited by any and all community members, it is very important that certain guidelines be followed. Key WikiHealth policies are as follows:

1. Vandalism is not permitted on WikiHealth. Vandalism is defined as:

• The intentional destruction of existing content on WikiHealth.
• The creation of false or libelous content written with the intent to mislead users of the site or any other such manipulation or sabotaging of content.
  
  

2.The destruction of abuse of WikiMedia code to harm the functioning of Wiki.

3. No egregious self/product advertising. WikiHealth does not support the use of WikiHealth to sell products. WikiFAQ exists to help people, not for product promotion. While we encourage useful FAQs about how to shop and buy things, writers should refrain from creating articles to purely promote one specific business without providing useful insights to our readers. While you are welcome to post an external hyperlink, the WikiHealth community reserves the right to delete hyperlinks or entire articles that over-step the bounds on advertising.

4. WikiHealth DOES NOT validate or reinforce ANY OF THE MEDIAL OR HEALTH ADVICE offered on this site.

5. WikiHealth is a civil group effort. WikiHealth is a group effort intended to be the world's largest, up to date, free collection of Health & Wellness information. You can expect your writing to be modified, criticized, or improved by others. Changes should be viewed in the spirit of improvement and not as a criticism of your approach or capabilities. On the other hand, when editing someone else's work, always be friendly, civil, and supportive. Assume good faith in everyone's efforts. Remember that all WikiFAQ contributors are working for free to help build this great resource, so please be open and appreciative. Writers and editors who can't cooperate and work for the best interest of the group will be discouraged or prevented from participating.

5. WikiHealth asks that all users document their changes in the Summary of Changes box on the edit page. Part of what makes the WikiHealth community to successful is the use of editing to improve and augment articles. Thus, showing reasons for edits and taking credit for them is helpful to writer and reader.

6. This is a family content oriented site. Please don't post content that would be inappropriate for any audience. Profanity, adult content, hate based, anti-social, threatening or racist content, or instructions for obviously illegal activities are inappropriate for WikiHealth.
